Default WPP Direct Payment Accepted Card Types

    Hi,

I have Amex and Discover set as 1 in Configuration> Credit Cards, but they are not showing up on my payment page as accepted card types in the WPP DP drop down list.

PayPal Manager shows these accepted card types:

    Visa
    Switch
    Discover
    PayPal Express Checkout
    American Express
    Solo
    MasterCard

Any help would be much appreciated.
    Regards.

I have the same problem here! No American Express or Diners option in the dropdown.

I think that if you are using the UK version then Amex and Diners are automatically hidden. Rather strange since the internet is worldwide.

The Internet may be worldwide, but PayPal isn't the internet ... it's a bank, of sorts. And, apparently the UK division of PayPal doesn't have arrangements to process Amex/Discover. Thus, since it's a limitation of the banking service you're using (aka PayPal UK), you don't have those options.
If you want to offer those options, fill the gap by adding/using another merchant service that does.

My PayPal UK account says that Amex and Discover are accepted. This may be a new thing. Im going to give them a call tomorrow to confirm this.

Thanks for clearing that up DrByte.

My PayPal account also says these cards are accepted.

The response I received from the manager of the UK product offerings at PayPal is thus:
Amex can only be accepted via Express Checkout, not via direct payments. UK does not have a processing relationship with Amex where PayPalUK is IMA.

If a merchant has an existing processing relationship with Amex Brighton, then this can be configured into their 2.0 account via special request in our Pandora admin tools.
So, since Website Payments Pro requires that you have Express Checkout enabled, you can accept Amex via Express Checkout.
But Amex is not offered in the UK Direct Payment "Website Payments Pro" method where CC numbers are taken directly on your website.

Hopefully that clarifies the confusion you were having.
