In your C-Panel (hosting account, not ZC) you can prevent this by restricting the HotLinking capability. (If your host provides this).

For a bit of fun, you could quietly re-name the attribute gifs on YOUR site and assign your attribute images to these new names. But keep the original names, and substitute these images with a nice rude pic. The idiots who designed their site will probably get an irate phonecall from their client - and may even lose the business... This will teach them a lesson about hotlinking.

It's not just your image they are stealing, but your bandwidth too.

yeah i thought about updating my site and changeing all my atribute images like you said, but not a rude image but an image with my url on to send people to my site.

if my host, camalot, allows me to stop hotlinking like this, is it able to display an image like infor from fire2you.co.uk etc?? this would save me hours of work chanigne all my images on the site etc.

It's possible that the site owners don't even know that the idiot designers did this - maybe a message through their Contact Us page will fix it.

id rather do the hotlink image and try to seal some business from them rather than just correct there site.

Ask Camelot what the best solution is. I think it is possible to do a URL re-direct, but I'm not sure how it works.

It could be that if someone attempts to use your images, any page where one of your images is being hotlinked will automatically load a URL you specifiy - which could be your site.

Check this with Camelot - they will know.

There's a fair chance they'll find this thread from their user-tracking mod (if they haven't already). In which case, they'll almost certainly remove these hotlinks straight away, especially considering some of the suggestions

It would appear that the IP address of your thief is: 87.117.228.14

You could use your "IP Deny Manager" to block all requests from this IP address...

This would prevent them from getting any stuff off your website via hotlinking, but does not enable the re-directs that HotLink Protection may offer.

Camelot Hosting does have hotlinking protection from CPanel. I use it myself.
