    Default Custom Attribute Position - Stock/Special Order Notice

    Here is what I have in mind - If someone has done something similar to this, a little insight would be appreciated...

    I want to make up an attribute called something like "Stock Status" and the values ounder it would be - Drop shipped item, In Stock, Special Order, Backorder, etc...

    No problems there, but what I want is to come up with a bit of code to pull just this single attribute (when present) and display it outside the normal attribute position - say, just below the price (and conversely, not show it with the other attributes)

    Basicaly I'm trying to make a custom stock status notice so I can let my customers be aware of what their getting into when they are ordering certian special items.

    Just wondering if I'm headed down the right path or if there may be a better soultion.

    Were you able to figure out a solution for this? I'm running into the same situation and would really appreciate some help. Thanks!

    O.k., maybe it's late, maybe I'm just tired, but I don't see what you're trying to do that's not built in.

    Zen-Cart already subtract your stock, and you can display your stock levels to your customers.

    What am I missing?
    Teach them to shop and they will shop today;
    Teach them to Zen and they will OWN a shop tomorrow!

    We are trying to create a product that doesn't subtract stock and doesn't display stock levels to customers. This is a special order product that we don't actually have in stock.

    Every other product in the store will subtract stock and display stock levels, except for this special order product.

    Does it make sense now?

    Ahhh, yep, even for tired eyes, that cleared it right up.
    Hmmmm.....sounds possible......I'll look into it more in the morning......well, my morning comes about Noon (central time). Can't be too hard, can it?

    I gave up on this a bit, but I would still be interested in using it... It seems like I need some sort of custom template for that attribute. The main issue is finding where the code is that pulls up attributes. Maybe I'll tackle this a bit myself again.
