    Default Zen Cart or Zen CSS for Regular Site

    Can I use Zen Cart as a template for my regular site or at least the CSS templates?

    I'd like the rest of my site to use the same layout.

    Also, how I change the Charset to UTF-8 site wide? Just do a search and replace or is it something deeper?

    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers!

    What do you expect to gain?

    Default is latin-swedish - ISO_8859-1 and should contain all characters you could need that are in UTF-8 and then some

    Charset change would allow Greek and other languages to display the corret characters. When I edit those files via ftp the get fouled using iso-8859-7 on the Greek language pages.

    The above is not ISO_8859-1 - which is equivalent for practical purposes to UTF-8

    Do you have a Greek lang pack installed? and does it require iso-8859-7?

    UTF-8 is not iso-8859-7

    Yes, I did have the Greek language installed I uninstalled due to the crazy character that resulted from FTP edits.

    That pack uses ISO_8859-7

    A peer recommended that he uses UTF-8 and never ran into a problem.

    I did a lot of work translating the pages for my site it and I'd really like to use them.

    Do you recommend the UTF contribution?

    Thanks.

    First BACKUP your Database and store locally where you know where it is.

    If a live site - place down for maint.

    open a COPY of the DB in an editor that can load large files

    Do a search & replace for

    CHARSET=latin1

    Replace with

    CHARSET=UTF8

    Save and Import this COPY with your phpmyadmin "Import" function

    See this to insure you perform a proper DB backup https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=103
