Default (Much better) new Look for PayPal Standard

Earlier today I was testing a new Zen site. Specifically I was testing paying with PayPal Webpayments Standard. On my first couple of payment tests I was presented with the usual PayPal screen, but on the third test... :

...the PayPay screen changed to a new, much improved version.
It was simple, it had an easy split screen. Credit cards on the left | PayPal login on the right. Not like the familiar complicated off-putting screen we're used to. It made sense. A customer could easily choose to pay by card if they want to. No hunting for that 'continue...' link. No more confusion.

I was well chuffed, finally PayPal had done it right.

But now... it's gone back to the old screen!

Does anyone have any news about this much better, easy (and free) PayPal screen?

    UPDATE!

I just done another test... and it came back!

    Check the screenshot:

much easier for a customer to pay by card.

    BUT!

Then I tried again... and it's back to the old page. Screenshot:

I guess PayPal are testing this one. So, any ideas?

If I had a dollar for every time this came up ...

When you login to PayPal, it sets a cookie in your browser. Then the next time you are taken to PayPal to make a payment for a purchase, it presents you with only the login screen (and the small Continue link). This is to make it more convenient for you the next time you go to use your PayPal account.
However, if you've never visited PayPal, or if you've cleared your browser's cache and cookies, you'll see the "split screen" as you call it, where both CC and PP-login options are presented on the same screen.

So, all in all, your customers will see what makes sense based on their shopping experiences. If they don't have a PayPal account, they will see the "split screen" automatically.

No worries. It's a common misconception, and understandable when you're trying to find a free way to allow customers to pay by credit card instead of using a traditional payment gateway.
