Product Listing Page - Major Layout Change

Hello everyone,
I'm sorry if this question has already been answered, I tried searching the forums and Google to no avail. I was looking for advice about how to drastically change the layout of the product listing page. I'd like to list the products as just pictures and their names with multiple products on one row. Is it possible to do this through the administration panel? If not, can someone point me in the right direction as to which file(s) would need to be edited to achieve the layout I'm looking for. I have extensive HTML/CSS experience, and a pretty good amount of PHP experience as well so if editing the source is what it requires, that is not an issue.

In Admin look at the options found in Configuration > Product Listing

Hi I seriously need help!

I did install the Column Product List download. I then when to admin--config--product listing and made changes: here's what it looks like:

Now all I really want is for my Product Listing Pages to look like the images verses the description and the images. I want 3 X 3 and right now it's giving me 1 X however many products will fit on the page. Here's an example of my results:

I have been at this for over 24 hrs and it's driving me bananas. I just want clean easy rows and columns for my product listing.

What in the world am I doing wrong?

Is it possible you have CSS affecting divs (this switches to a div layout rather than a table) that is causing those ot line up like that. My admin panel looks exactly the same as yours and everything displays correctly.

Awe fiddle sticks!! I was just thinking the same thing and boy did I not want to spend my day playing with the code! But thank you for confirming that I am not absolutely mad!
