    Default Media Manager bug?

    Hello,

    After reading this tutorial/article: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=119

    Admin>Extras>Media Manager

Which makes it easy for you to upload clips of your music products and associate them to an individual product (so the customer can listen to a sample before they buy).

However, when I get to step 7.
"7. With your media collection still selected, click the "Assign to Products" button. * Choose a category and product with which you want to associate this media collection"
My only category has music-products and when I use the dropdown menu with my only option I get a blurb of text which states: No Products in this category

The category has 7 music products within it. So, I am a little confused.

I have search the boards for another having the same issue but could not.

    Any suggestions?

Sadly none of them apply to my issue.

The difference with my issue is that I do have product-music items and that I am wanting to associate the media clips with those products. And it is stating that my product category doesn't have any products in it.

One of the links at the bottom of the page had a user who wanted to add the music files/clips to products but wasn't sure if he/she had created the products as products-music or products-general.

All my products where created with products-music like required for the media manager to work. The site is http://www.justmymusic.com/store/

Each product will bring up the "product_music_info" page with the product id at the end of the URL:

    Example: http://www.justmymusic.com/store/ind...&products_id=7

Yet I can not link the collection with a product since the product category step states that my only category doesn't have any products.

Admin>Extras>Media Manager>Collection Name>Mickey>[assign to prodcut] button>You can assign and remove this Media Collection for products using the forms below>Drop down menu only has my one product category>text below states no products in that category

    strange huh?

If you create a 2nd category, even if there's nothing in it, then select that category from the media manager pulldown, and then go back and choose your "real" category, does it then show your products?

Or if you simply add &current_category_id=1 to the URL in your media manager page, does that work?

I guess the next question is...

Is it possible to create a drop-down menu for the media clips which would be displayed on the product page?

You can probably build an override of the tpl_modules_media_manager.php template to display as a pulldown instead of as clickable links.

I'm having the same problem and the above fixes haven't worked for me so far. I've got more than one product category, and the URL suffix isn't working (although i'm not sure I'm adding it in the right place, to be honest). Still getting "No products in this category."

    Any more tips?

    Thanks,

    tated

The "fix" (workaround) above is only applicable if you have just a single category.

If you have multiple categories, but you're seeing "no products in this category", then you most likely haven't created your products using "Product-Music" as the product type ... which is only selectable at the time of product creation.

The Media Manager only shows products built with that product type.
