Rush fee per order not per item

Is there a way to set up an attribute to add a specific dollar amount to the whole order if the attribute is selected? I need a rush fee for the order, but attributes are adding the fee to each product.

We are looking for this same thing! We charge a rush fee of $35 PER ORDER, not per item... anyone have any suggestion?

(In addendum, we'd also like to have the rush order option turn off any discounts. We are currently using a percentage discount for certain order sub-totals with the "Quantity Discounts" module.)

Making the rush order fee a product is one way to do it.

You might also be able to use the attibute as a flag to trigger the fee (as opposed to making the attribute the fee itself), but I'm not sure how you'd accomplish that.

I'm sure someone else will have another suggestion.

I just found this "Priority Order Handling" module:

I'm having trouble with some of the options, and it's a shame that it doesn't show up in Step 2. People like to see order totals before entering CC info.
