Default Can EZ-Pages link to an intenral html document?

I want to design a custom page in html and have it displayed in the main content area of my page (so that the header, footer, and side boxes are still there).

Do I have to make a page, say in dreamweaver, and then copy and paste the html into the ‘HTML Content’ area in admin/ tools/ ez-pages/ new file.

Or, could I save the html page somewhere in my site (from dreamweaver), and then use the ‘Internal Link URL:’ to link to it? This would allow me to easily update my pages with dreamweaver and also use dreamweaver’s template function.

    thanks
    james

You should be able to use the internal link to link to the page you created. I haven't tried it that way, so I'm not sure how it displays. I use EZ-Pages on the sites in my sig, but I use the 'HTML Content' area for them.

when i click on the ezpage link it opens in a new page, without the header footer, etc.

How can I make it open in the main page contents so the side-boxes, header and footer, etc are all there?

Do you mean you copy and paste the html into the ez pages through the editor in the admin?

Yes, that's how I do it. You don't need the HTML header and body tags. Just the page content. Zen Cart will take care of the rest.

    OK thanks.

If i managed to get it working with actually html pages saved in my site, would there be a downside to this?

Are the php pages generated smaller or do they reduce the 'computing' of the server or anything like that?

Probably wont affect my small sites but im just curious.
