    Default dropdown menus

My apologies if this has been covered in another thread.
I'm a relatively new Zenner, and have my cart *nearly* finished, but have one issue that I can't seem to figure out.

When I have an attribute set to "dropdown", in the actual cart the attributes show up as radio buttons instead

What am I doing wrong here?

(to see what I'm talking about, my website is www.wolfsdenarmoury.com )

    Thanks for any help,

    David

When there is only 1 Option Value the Dropdown automatically switches to a selected Radio Button ...

When the 2nd or more Options Value(s) have been added, it will revert back to the Dropdown ...

This is meant to save the customer from wasting time clicking a Dropdown with only 1 possible value ...

    my massive brain cramp was:

I set the Attribute Option Names and Values as the same thing, then only posted the Names on my site. oops!

Now I have it set as:
    (ON) Metal Desired
    (OV) Galvanized Steel
    (OV) Stainless Steel

    etc.

Don't forget to assign a price difference (if there is one) to each Option as you assign each option name and value to a product, otherwise there will be no price increase or decrease for each option

    Hello,

I'm in the process of setting up a music download shop and have added four file formats ( mp3, AAC, Ogg, and FLAC ) as attributes so that the customer may select their favorite codec. I set them up as radio buttons, only to find all four buttons were actived - no choice as intended. I edited each attribute, changing them to dropdown and clicked update for each... with the result that I'm still getting four active radio buttons.

I cannot find an answer to this problem in the manual ( might be me, though ). Can you help me? Thanks!

You would have to set the attribute "Option Name" as "File Format", then the "Option Values" as the individual formats. Then you'll have the dropdown menu.

It works - great! Thanks so much!!! Luckily this is something one ony has to learn / understand once...

Do you also know why my media collection shows 'no products' in my 'music downloads' category when there are seven music-products in it? ( Let me know if I'm starting to become a nuisance... ;-)

    Thanks again,

Sounds like you have 5 Option Names with 1 Option Value each ...

For something like, Color, you would want 1 Option Name Color with an Option Type of Dropdown ...

Next, go to the Option Values and add the 5 Option Values to the Option Name Color ...

    Konnichi-wa Oba-san,

that was exactly the problem and the problem is solved now. This morning, when I was a bit less out to lunch, it all seemed quite logical...

Why don't you pay me a visit at http://www.klangstaub.com/shop and help yourself to my free album of strange loop music ( LONE LOOPER )? I got something for free from you, so why should you not have something free from me?

This invitation of course extends to the entire Zen Cart team, everyone on this forum, and in fact to the whole wide world.

Zen Cart is a really great thing to have for free ( in particular compared to the 1-2-3 Music Store I had before, paid for, and that didn't work ), so thanks and keep up the great work!

    Klangstaub aka Bernhard
