Hello All,

I am trying to implement two things. VERY LONG...BUT HOPEFULLY VERY THOROUGH...SORRY

1. An RSS sidebox for our WordPress blog. It would have a scrolling feature that would show latest posts. We are opting for a scrolling sidebox as it would catch your eye when on the page because it is a moving item...or so we believe.

I've looked at the add ons and none of them fit this request. I've also searched the forums and I don't see anyone request this type of item.

If no item like this exists, does anyone have an idea that would be similar to this need? Currently we have the link to our blog in the Information box located at the bottom left of the screen. I believe people miss it.

2. We currently use iContact (because of the price) for our newsletters. We have a Sign Up link at the top of the page, this is effective. However, when a customer creates an account and chooses to join the mailing list it, their information goes into Zen Cart's database. It is a lot of work exporting from Zen Cart and importing into iContact and completing the missing fields on every person that created an account and wants a newsletter. Because of this work we run behind in adding customers to the list so potential sales are missed.

We have given up on the coding option as the quote we received from a programmer was more than we were willing to pay as we are not a great fan of iContact's options. We may change to a different company down the road. This is why we did not want to invest in paying for iContact code. The coding option would have taken that customer's information upon creating an account and automatically placed it in iContact's database.

So...giving up on the code I thought about removing the join the mailing list code from the sign up page. After the customer signs up having that very next page they see be the sign up page for our mailing list with an option to not sign up which would take them back to the original Zen Cart coded page.

With #2, the hump I am running into is the following:
1. I think there are two different pages in Zen Cart a customer is taking to when they create an account. I think this is contingent upon if they have items in their shopping bag/cart or if their bag/cart is empty. Am I correct? If I am correct, where would this code need to be changed in Zen Cart? Will it mess up anything if there is an interim page?

2. If we insert an interim page the customer will be presented with a form that they will need to enter in all their information all over again (which may be frustrating for them) in order to join the mailing list.

Any ideas on a smoother work around for #1 and #2? All ideas are appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
