Footer Banner Refuses To Turn Off

The footer banner will not turn off.

I have all banners set as inactive in the Banner Manager.

I have searched for the files and downloaded the entire zen cart to my desktop and searched for the banner image files, two of which are "big-book-ad.gif" and think_anim.gif.

I've searched this forum and cleared my cookies.

Stymied.

I seem to have found where the images live in

/images/banners/

But why do they not turn off from the Banner Manager?

Compare your template to the stock template to see if the php that controls the banners has been removed.

I am so sorry.

I have a local version and an online version and I thought I had them carefully separated but despite myself they somehow got mixed up!
