Image Handler not appearing in Tools

I intalled the latest version Image handler 2 on my new local 1.3.8a Zen Cart.
Inage handler 2 does no appear in the admin>tools popdown menu.

I do not receive any error messages.

Looked for an answer in the ZC foum with no luck.

When through the install process several times.

I simply took the four files from the image handler and copied into my ZC floder. The overwrote 3 files (admin, images and includes) and added bmz_cache.

Since you can't change permissions on a FAT disk, I uploaded bmz_cache to my server, changed the permission to 777 and them downloaded back to my local computer. I didn't do this the first few try but it didn't make any difference. I suspect I would have gotten an error message if this was the problem.

Then, I copied the two files (CSS and Popup_image_addition) from in the includes/templates/template_custom and pasted them in any Custom folder.

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm having the same problems. [breakmyzencart] said to match the bmz_cache permissions to the images folder. Is it talking about the images folder in my CUSTOMTEMPLATE folder? What am i supposed to do?

There are more then 4 files that go in the admin folder (about 12).
Looks like you missed a few.

If the path has /includes/ in it then you are not at the right folder.

I think I solved part of the problem. The instructions say"Copy the following directories into your Zen Cart folder." So, I just replaced each of the four files instead of opening each of the IH2 files and pasting the contents into the directories in Zen Cart .

I still have the problem.

1. This may be a little off the subject but how do change permissions on a computer with a FAT Hard drive. When I click on the 'properties' of a file I do not see the permission tab. I see a "read only" box but it really doesn't cahnge anything.



2. If I have the wrong permission on the bmz_cache wouldn't I get an error instead of not seeing the IN2 in the tools menu?

I believe that the permissions should be the same in the bmz_cache and images files in the core directory of the Zen Cart folder; not in your custom folders.

bmz-cache has nothing to do about seeing the tools menu in admin.
Have you double check each file that goes in /admin/ that it is there and in the correct folder/location?

Fat drive:
Having a tick/check mark in the read only box means
'Read Only".
Remove the tick/check mark and clicking "Apply" makes it writable.

Right click on the file or folder, click Properties, on the General tad near the bottom is the Attributes settings. If the Read Only has a check mark or is filled in, click on it to removed and then click Apply. This will make it writable.

I agree the bmx_cache permission have nothing to do with not being able to see IH2 on the Tools Menu.

However, one sentence in your reply intrigued me.

Answer:
I have opened the Admin file in the Image Handler 2 folder and copied the files then pasted these file in the Admin Folder in the core directory of my Zen Cart program. I then followed the same procedure for the images and includes file. I then added the bmz_cache file from Image Handler 2 to the core directory of Zen Cart. I added this file because there was no bmz_cach file in Zen Cart. There was a cache file so now I have a cache and bmz_cache file in Zen Cart.
I have done nothing with the Shopad folder in the Inage Handler 2 folder.

Yes, I have checked my work to assure that all the files have been transferred.

Does this procedure sound correct?
I wonder if anyone knows what file/folder actually places Image Handler 2 into the Tools program?

This is very frustrating because:
1. I already have performed this on a 1.3.7 Zen Cart program about a year ago.
2. . The instructions seem very simple..
3. I cannot see in the forum where anyone has complained that they couldn’t see the Image Handler in the Tools menu.

I guess I will start all over if no one has any answers.

where would the bmz_cache be in the core. Or are you talking about the custom bmz matching the images in the core?

The bmz_cashe has been placed in c:\POSStore as is the programs Admin, Images and Includes plub many other folders/files.

I am calling c:\POSStore as the core folder

I get to the Zen Cart Admin screen by typing in

ttp://www.example.com/posstore/admin/index.php

which works.
