    Default Re: Help Configuring Pricing

But I don't understand how attributes satisfy my needs in this case lol

Leveling from 60-65 is not the same price as leveling from 61-66...not is an order asking from 61-65 the same price as 60-65.

With attributes I cannot see how I can work it all out to be what I need. The only way I can see doing this is having 9 drop down menu's, one for when you want to be leveled from 60, another from 61, another from 62...and each drop down menu asking the desired level...but this isn't what I want on my website.

Okay so I couldn't figure out how to edit my post above...so I'm posting again.

Just figured out how to do it using attributes. You probably figured this out a long time ago, but this is how I'm doing it:

W/ the starting level, for 60, i subtract $0, for 61 i subtract $9, for 62 I subtract $19 (and so on) from the initial price. I do this because if they are starting at that level, I don't have to do that leveling and they won't be charged for those levels.

W/ the desired level, I'm just using this: 61 +$9, 62 +$19, 63 +$30, etc. So in the end, the final price will be the starting level cost + the desired level cost. So to level from 61 to 63, the cost would be 30 + (-9) = $21.

However, I have run into a problem. Is there any way I can stop the attribute prices from showing up in the dropdown menu's? I don't want to confuse customer's by having negative dollar signs and positive dollar signs everywhere. Also, if there a way I can insert some sort of tool that calculates the price right on the page after they have selected the starting and desired levels, so they don't have to add the item to their cart to see the total price?

Also, is there any way to set it so if the customer chooses 65 for the starting level (which is -$55) and then 60 for the desired level...which comes to a grand total of -$55. And since I really don't want people placing orders of me owing them money...this doesn't really help business :)

Again I do not know squat about World of ################...

But I think that from what you have explained that check boxes will provide the simplest solution -

Item entered with no price and "priced by attributes" selected

One Option Name(check box) with 10 option values in sort order

    See a sample HERE

Hope that this is inline with what you are seeking

Hmm yeah. That looks like it would work out well.

Over the night I have worked out everything and it seems to be working with the drop down menu's. But on the drop down menu it still looks like this:

    For the starting level:

    60 ($0)
    61 (-$9)
    62 (-$19)

    and for the desired level:

    61 (+$9)
    62 (+$19)

And so on. Is there any way I can configure it to not show these prices next to the attributes?
