Ultimate SEO URLs - modify URL?

Hi,

I've began to read the Contributors page for this mod but to no avail. All I'm trying to do is modify the URL which the mod produces.

At the moment, it is great and works fine but I'm wondering if I can change:

http://example.com/books-nonfictions-c-2_3.html

to...

http://example.com/books/nonfiction/

is this possible?

I've tried to modify the .htaccess myself and so far managed nothing!

Forgot to mention, this is for GoogleBase, so every product would need a permanent, static URL...

such as...

http://www.example.com/xbox-360-elite.html
http://www.example.com/80g-budget-paper.html
http://www.example.com/berol-comfort-ballpen.html


Will this work, or do the URLs need a product id?

I was trying to figure this out for a long time Mikey...the way Ultimate SEO works...I'm pretty sure it's a no go.

I believe that the .htaccess file is re-writing the incoming request from this....
http://www.example.com/xbox-360-elite.html

to this...
http://www.example.com/product?=360

or whatever your dynamic one is....so if you were to take out the 360 from the static, the webserver would have no way of knowing which product you wanted to go to.

Anyway, thats what I've decided. You'd need to rewrite the engine itself to store and use the item name or PLUG in the database as the index/identifier not the v_product_id.

Would be a good project but its over my head...someone please correct me if Im wrong, I'd love to find a way to do this.
