Double check before upload, few questions.

Im about to upload my site with Bluehost. Ive read the book and looked at a the tutorials but I have a few questions I want to clear up.

I’ve been creating my site locally so im about to upload it via FTP. I’ve put the zc_install folder back. Do I need to change the permissions of the files (that I changed to read only after my local install) back to read and write? I know they have to be read only for security, but do they need to be read and write for the install?

Do I ftp my whole site into my web route or ‘public’ folder, or are their files that need to be above the web root, so not accessible via browsing? I cant find any advice on this but I seem to remember reading something a while back when I was first learning Zencart.

I haven't created a local Zenacart installation, but I would think that, if you change the configure.php files (path info) before you upload, you should be OK.

Obviously, anything you want to edit after the transfer will have to be writable.

There are no files above root.

One more question, does the data base only have details of the products and categories?

If so then after I upload the site I will use Easy Populate to transfer my categories and products rather than figure out how to upload the database whole.

No, there's more stuff in the database than product and category info.
