Default How to use Attributes Controller to arrange two attributes!!!

I have a Zen Cart powered shopping cart. Each product has its two unique catalog # and two sizes. Say product A has catalog # of SL100324 for size of 125 ml and catalog # SL100324-L for size of 500 ml. Each size has its own price. My question is how to arrange the two attributes (Catalog # and Size) via Attributes Controller so that when a customer can select a different "Size" (radio or pulldown button), the Catalog # and price can automatically match the "Size" for checkout.

I have been trying to solve the puzzle during the past one week, but failed. Are there any advanced experts who can help me out? Your help will be greatly appreciated. My shop: signagenlabs.com

Zen Cart does not support more than one mdl# per item

You might look at the module stock-by-attributes by kurio - but I do not think that you can enter more than one mdl# with it either

Thank you. I think you are right. There is no way Zen Cart can do. Thank you anyway.

This really is quite disappointing... Zen is behind some of the other carts when it comes to the attribute system. Hopefully in the next release this will be addressed

This is one of the major failings of the cart for me too

My shoddy work around for it is to cut the model number off where it starts to change... if hopefully the only change is at the end... and then stick the differring part into the option value itself.

Not a clean look for the customers so much... but it lets the people processing the sales make sure they are getting the model number right.

You can adjust prices based on attributes, that's already built in... So you'd use that current mechanic...

But for the 500mL size, you'd just have one attribute that is called 125mL, and one called 500mL (L).

And that way when people order, you know the product number needs to be modified by adding an L to the end of it. Again.. doesn't work real great... looks a little ugly... but gets the job done for me at least.

My problem is a bit different from yours, as I have multiple attributes for some products, with a minimum order quantity requirement of 24. There is a mod that allows this, but it is applied to ALL products as opposed to just certain ones. I have to figure out a way around this, as my deadline is the end of next week.

I love Zen, but I may use Cube Cart or Joomla! CMS (w/mods) for future sites until Zen is updated to include these features. I'm wondering if this is going to require a rewrite of the attributes system... seems likely.

I thought out a solution for multi model #. Let's say Product A has three size: 1.0 ml, 2.0 ml and 10 ml. Each size has its unique model #. Let's say 1.0 ml's model # is 001, 2.0 ml is 002 and 10 ml, 010.

Now I think we can arrange above attributes into three rows as follows:

    Model # Size Price
    001 1.0 ml $10
    002 2.0 ml $18
    010 10 ml $88

In the end of each row, set default quantity to be 1, after quantity add a "Add to Cart" button so that customers can select each size to checkout.

It seems above design can solve this problem, but the thing is how to customize codes. Any suggestions?

It is not just a matter of designing a display for the mdl # -

where will these be entered originally?
where will they be stored in the DB?
How will you dynamically retreive them later & only if they exist for a certiam product
    and on and on
