Hi
I am starting some work for a company who currently have a number of furniture related websites. The company have set up an umbrella name for the "group" and have sub sites for each category of item rather than band all of the categories under one site. Allow me to illustrate:
Umbrella site - e.g. www.exampleurlfurniture...
Sub sites - www.exampleurlsofas..., www.exampleurlbeds..., www.exampleurldining...
Each site is interlinked and viewed as sister sites. They did it this way for SEO purposes as they could focus each site on a specific product type and then focus all of the keywords etc on that type of product.
Unfortunately, they have separate databases for each site and customers have to login to each site separately if they wish to cross purchase.
Is there a way to configure the sites and Zen Cart to share a single database so it would still be apparent to the customer and search engines that they are distinctly different sites but allow one login across the three? Also, it would be good if the contents of the shopping cart could travel between the sites as well.
