HELP! upgraded, now entire site is blank

I just upgraded to 1.3.8a and now my site is blank and I get this error in the admin:

Warning Your database appears to need patching to a higher level. See Tools->Server Information to review patch levels.

The database is intact (whew) but not communicating, apparently. I contacted my host to see if they can "patch to a higher level" but no response yet.

What should I do first? Panicking over here...

I suggest you run the debug utility available in the downloads.

Hi Tatiana. This is from the tutorial:

Run /zc_install/index.php and choose "Upgrade" when prompted. (Don't select "Install", or you will overwrite your database.) (If "Upgrade" is not offered, then the installer was unable to connect to your database to confirm what version its structure is at. Check your configure.php settings.)


Thought you might have just missed this. Just follow those steps to upgrade you database.

After backing up, I did hit the upgrade database button. But then I got this weird message, after the page quickly loaded:

in:
{select admin_id, admin_name, admin_pass from admin where admin_name=xxx}

only xxx was listed my real admin login. i even reset the password and still, same screen.

Well, i didnt realize it, but even though i got those weird messages, it was updating the database from old to current version, one by one. Now they are all up to date and no more patch upgrade message.

Backing up one TABLE at a time? If so, it sounds like you might have had an error when updating the Admin table. You might take the Admin info out of your backup SQL file, executing it again. Don't know if this will help you, or not, but it's worth a shot.

I tried the debug script, but get cannot figure out where to access the cache file? the install directions say to then check cache/myDEBUG-xxxxxxx.log

what are the x's supposed to be??

ok i found the files and am going through them one by one. i will post the results in case others have the same errors.

the error log says this: 4] PHP Fatal error: Class 'phpBB' not found in /includes/autoload_func.php on line 79




line 79 says this:

no CLUE how to fix this
