Default Default text in dropdown attributes

[FONT=Verdana]How to create 'default text' in attribute option dropdown box?

What I mean is, for example I create an attribute named size with 3 values small, medium and large.

Whenever I go to the product info page, I would like the dropdown option NOT to show the small, medium or large value as default text in the dropdown. I want it to show e.g [Select size] as the top list in the dropdown if you know what I mean.

    Here's an example:

instead of this - Size: [ small ]

I prefer something just like this - [ Select size ]

then followed by small, medium and large.

    Possible?

Color me dense, but it took me a minute to understand what the post stevesh referenced was trying to say, so I thought I'd bump this to give (hopefully better) detailed instructions on how I solved this:

    1. I add an attribute value to each one of my dropdown list type attributes called "[Select One]". (You can use what every value you like)
    2. Every time I add these attributes to a product, I include this new attribute value.
    3. When adding this attribute value, I set the sort order = 1 (so it always appears as the first value in my drop down lists).
    4. Then I set the "Used For Display Purposes Only:" and "Default Attribute to be Marked Selected:" as "Yes".

    Here's the result:

    1. "[Select One]" will appear first the attribute dropdown lists
    2. Visitors cannot "accidentally" choose the "[Select One]" option. (System will display an error letting them know that the option they chose is not a valid product attribute)
    3. Visitors cannot add the item to their cart without selecting a valid product attribute

Sorry to resume such an old post...
The solution is good, but I have to re-arrange attribute default value options for every single product with that attribute.
There is a way (maybe a SQL query?) to automagically update default attribute options for every products?

Set up a dummy product with just the "Select one" attribute (a different dummy product for each option name where you have the situation). Then in Attributes Controller, use the "copy to product" or "copy to category" buttons as appropriate with the "ignore and add new" selected.
