Adult content - how do I restrict access to these categories?

Not sure where to post this and I did search and only found an old archived thread but nothing else....

Is it possible to create a section in my store to huse the adult +18 items. They are not raunchy but still need to be able to have proper thumbnails made and not for young eyes to view.

I would like to create the section then have it not be available to guests until they log on...the category name can be seen but when clicked on they would get the disclaimer that they have entered our adult section and need to be registered to view or purchase.

The items are for art creation (images) and are only 3d models but still adult in nature none the less.

ok, I installed the mod called hide categories to do what I need it to do but

although it hides the catgory form the sideboxes and the items it holds and leaves them in the "show all" section (this is fine)

How can I get it to show in the sidebox once they log on?

well I guess it still shows in the upper navigation set of links under the logo

so does anyone know how to contact the donar of this mod?

thanks for the links...I knew about the first one but not the 2nd one.

that one is mainly by the creator and although I appreciate his efforts there was no real help...mainly to read the readme which does not really tell how to go about getting it to do what you want.

I have decided that having it in the nav menu under the logo is not so bad...many don't pay attention to it anyhoo

I can always go into the file (once I find it) and change the links to be what I want them to be but what I need to do is have the hidden category and its items viewable by the logged on members.

This is touched on with talk about using and id code but no further help is found there.

possibly he does not know where or how to do this change, which is fine he did the major part of the work and hopefully someone will come up with an idea of how to do it.

until then itis at least out of the side blocks, it is still in the zen search part but then of course they would need to know the name of the product...lol

I can always add a disclaimer to our pages that the items are for 3d creating and not for real people to use...lol It would be really hard for Poser items to be used in real life but then you never know...lol
