Send Copy of Create Account Emails issue

How do i get the company name to populate in the email that we recieve telling us we have a new customer registered?

I have the company name set to true in the customer details, and it does prevent them from registering without a company name.
The company name shows up in the customer list. but we also need the company name to populate in the email so when my sales guy gets the email he know what company they are from before we give them access.

You would need to customize the module for the create_account.php to include the company name when the email is sent ...

Follow the pattern of the: lastname

and you should see how to add this to the building of the email and all places where you may need to set a variable/array component to do this ...

could you give me a bit more details? or is there a tutorial on this?
I tried to change what I though you were talking about and it gave me an error when I added a new test customer

Not really ...

Go open the create_account.php module and do a search on:
lastname

Do a search on:
company

Notice that there are more lastname than company in there?

You need to have a company for where the lastname are that are related to the email and do it in a manner that uses the right syntax ...

Without sitting down and writting this, it is really hard to put it all into details ...

ok so basicly add company in the same format that lastname is through out the code on that page in the right sytax and it should do wnat i need i will give that a try thanks!

ok im still getting an error:

1054 Unknown column 'customers_company' in 'field list'
in:
[INSERT INTO customers (customers_firstname, customers_lastname, customers_company, customers_email_address, customers_nick, customers_telephone, customers_fax, customers_newsletter, customers_email_format, customers_default_address_id, customers_password, customers_authorization, customers_gender, customers_dob)

I may not be explaining this well ...

You need to see where all lastname is used vs company is not, but not necessarily make changes everywhere ...

Find the line:
// build the message content

watch how the lastname is built into the text and HTML email ... and see where the company could be added ...

The problem is, the company is not necessarily available right there as you may have to pick it up from another peice of the code ...
