    Default Payflow-UK headache

Can anyone help me set up Paypal on my system. I wish to use Express and website payments pro.

Just starting with express, I get "An error occurred when we tried to contact the payment processor. Please try again, select an alternate payment method, or contact the store owner for assistance. (1) 1 - User authentication failed"

I've checked and double checked by settings and I'm sure I have them correct.

    API Signature -- Username
    my api username

    API Signature -- Password
    ****************

    API Signature -- Signature Code
    my signature code

    PayPal Mode
    Payflow-UK

    Live or Sandbox
    live

    Debug Mode
    Log File

    PAYFLOW: Partner
    PayPalUK

    PAYFLOW: Vendor
    my vendor name

    PAYFLOW: User
    my user name

    PAYFLOW: Password
    ***********

If I switch over to option 1 (PayPal Mode - PayPal) eveything works ok. Express seems to work (tested it as far as being redirected to the paypal log in screen) and website payments pro work for credit cards. The problem is, in this mode I'm not given the option for Switch/Maestro and Solo cards at checkout so when I enter the number I can't enter start date / expiry and then get an error saying I didn't enter start date.

Can anyone help??? My partner/vendor/user/password all log me in to paypal manager ok.

    Cheers
    Dave

What are the contents of the log file when you get that error message?

    Hi there,

I'll PM the logfiles to you. Not sure if they contain anything I shouldn't put on a public forum.

    Cheers!

Hi, I'm going through the same headaches.

I have everything configured like you'd expect.

Can you let us know what Dr Byte's answer was, that made you need to contact Paypal?

I presume I'll have to contact them also also and to save Dr Byte's time, I was hoping you could pass on any valuable info.

    Thanks

    Steven

This means that your user/vendor/partner/password details are incorrectly specified.
Either they're entered incorrectly, or the specified username isn't allowed to process web transactions. You might check your user settings in your Manager console to verify permissions.
I'd suggest talking to PayPal tech support if you need assistance in verifying those details.

Sorry about that! Should have posted something.

Paypal's response was that I must have the password wrong, I'm currently awaiting a reply from them as I have tried the password several times.

I'm currently running it in standard paypal version (as opposed to payflow) and it works fine - just means that Zencart doesn't request card start dates and issue numbers so we can't take switch and solo etc.

Just an update... simple fix once identified. I had IP restrictions set up in paypal manager from about a year ago...

Removed them and all seems well.

Thanks for the update. I'll have a chat with paypal too. Trouble is my paypal account is technically my wifes'. so they won't talk to me, but my wife cannot explain the technicalities of the problem and we are never together until Paypal telephone support has shut for the day. I'll try an email and see what happens. Thanks

    Steven
