Default Products Quantity? Updating all vs showing Sold Out

Is it possible to change the product quantity site wide or do you have to edit the quantity for each product? Is it possible to set the quantity to 'unlimited'? If you don't add any quantities the 'sold out' icon appears.

It'll be a job to change 3000 product's quantity one by one...

(Have you tried altering your stock management settings as well?)

I use EasyPopulate to do exactly what you describe.

I "download" the full product data file, import it into a spreadsheet, use the spreadsheet's functionality to increase the product quantities fields (takes about 5 seconds), save the file as tab-delimited TXT (as Easypopulate requires) then upload it into the database again.

Whole process (to update 4500 products) - about 6 minutes.

If you know SQL, you could run a query via phpMyAdmin to do a similar things for you.

This might be a solution to set quantity to a certain amount and change the ' stock settings' not to subtract sales?

When you have successfully installed easypopulate, look at the ZC WIKI article:-
