Default Additional cost for some attributes.

For some of our items we charge for different colors:

    Ie Color Choice#1: Blue ( + 1.00 )
    Green (+1.25)

I tried to set this up but when I place the cost of the attribute in the Prices and weights area as shown in the attached image. The price to be added gets discounted by the system. Im confused. Where can I add this cost for each option value?

    Thank you

Do you have the Product on Special or on Sale?

Do you have the Attributes setup to reflect the discount?

    1) Yes the products are currently on sale.
    2) I have set up the Price and Quantity area for attributes:

The addition of the option cost appears to work now, however, if the price of the attribute changes I have to change it on each item?

Isnt there a better way? LIke this>....

Create a product: Ball Price: $12.00
    Create Sale Price: $10.00

Create Second Product: Bat Price $15.00
Create Second Product Sale Price: $10.00

    Create Option: "Color"
    Create Option Value: "Blue"
    Create Option Cost: $1.00

Attach Color option "Blue" to both the Ball and the Bat.

If the price of Color=Blue changes, I should only need to modify in one place and it would update all instances of "Color"="Blue"

    .....

Seems simple to me. Maybe I am just missing how to do this? Since this is a theoretical example I cannot give you a URL.

    thank you

Did you look on the Attributes Controller at the Copy to Product or Copy to Category on the Attributes Controller for this?

Be sure to backup your database before using these ...

Yes but it does not make the change site wide. Also when I use copy, the attribute prices are changed.

There are two images attached the first is the original option. When I copy it to another product, the price information changes (second option).

But, still, I would have to do this for each product by copying a main template option? I really just want to change the info in one place. Does the system do that or am I expecting something that it just does not do?

    THanks.
