Shipping Method display in Checkout and Email

One the checkout page and the order confirmation email, the shipping method is displayed in the following format

Shipping Method (EMS Speed Courier):
or
Shipping Method (Free Shipping by Registered Mail):

My client is insistent that we remove the brackets around the shipping method and the trailing colon. The brackets are not in the language files.

I have searched the order total, order and shipping modules and classes but just cannot find where these are placed.

Does anyone have any idea on this???

You could try hacking the parentheses out of the following line in your classes/shipping.php file:

         'title' => $quotes['module'] . ' (' . $quotes['methods'][$i]['title'] . ')',

Did you ever find a solution to this? I tried Dr. bytes suggestion
but that didnt get rid of them.

I also tried. I even deleted the entire rule, but that seems to change nothing

If there is a solution out there please share
