Dynamic DropDown with Image

Can anyone help me with this code. I have tried following from the beginning. I just can't get it to work, I am new to Zencart but understand the way the templates work. If anyone could give me the final code, that would be good. I have had a look at the jewellery site and this is the same sort thing I am trying to do for a site. Any help greatly appreciated!!!

Is this still active, tried all the code on this thread and just cannot get it to work, can someone post a step by step of all alterations you did to get it to work, thanks.
