Want shopping cart only... not the rest

Hello everyone,
I'm new to zen. I have the last few days been trying to use basket2go, which is a 3rd party hosted shopping cart. However, du to limitations in what one can do with that cart, I'm gonna give zen a go.

Basically what I need is a shopping cart, and nothing else. The rest I have sorted myself. Can I do that with zen? I imagine that I somehow would POST the info/variables (that define my customers purchases) to zen's cart... without any use of zen's store features. I have been searching quite a bit as I cannot imagine being the first one ever that wanna do this, but no joy.

How should I approach this?

Zen Cart is a full function ecommerce package and is not designed for using as a shopping cart,

What Merlin is diplomatically saying is that ZC was not designed to function in the way you want. It is a full-blown e-commerce system - not just a shopping cart. It's not possible to split the functions.

Im using a 3rd party payment processing service and my website have been put together by myself. What is needed is just the link between my website and the payment processing service, i.e. a shopping cart. Of course I could put together my own shopping cart script, but it seems a bit of a waste of time if there would be something already available which I could just tweak to fit my needs.

Zen Cart isn't designed to work that way. It's not a backend operation.

It would be far easier to use ZC as your full website, as there are plenty of ways to incorporate additional pages, customised information and practically everything else.

Many people have asked the forum to suggest ways in which "ZC can be integrated with my website" and the answer has always been the same, "Integrate your website into ZC.

Perhaps you could install a "test" shop in a sub-directory of your current installation (if your server is compatible with ZC's needs) and try it out for a few weeks.

Then you can see if ZC is what you're after...
