Default Re: Unable to Search Catalog from Admin Area

Just to jump in. I am also having problems with search in 1.3.8a admin.

Just to isolate the problem, I uploaded a copy of the admin folder from a fresh copy of 1.3.8a, called it 'admin2' and copied 'includes/config.php' into it. The same problem occurs in the new version, so I suspect some modification to the database is to blame.

    Any other ideas?

    I cannot reproduce this ...

Can you try loading a completely clean Zen Cart v1.3.8 from our download ... into a test directory with a test database and the demo data into it ...

    Does it still do this?

I have the previous version of the site (on 1.3.7) still active (but hidden) running on the same server setup (Apache 2, php5, mySQL 5). The admin search facility works fine, same for a new install of 1.3.8a.

I suspect one of the add-ins on the production site is to blame. Can you give me some pointers as to what query is called when admin search is used versus the query when searching from main site as a user. I'll then try to work through and see which table(s)/queries/function calls are changed.

    nemail ddress exporter
    2- ad customer from admin
    3- zj__zencart_jquery_template_pack_1-0-1
    4- master_password db
    5- +CSS click-show-hide menu
    6- email_archive_manager_1.4
    7- BACKUP_MYSQL_ADMIN_PLUGIN-1.3
    8- GV_ADMIN_EDIT_1.1
    9- improved_attributes_controller_1-1b
    10- quick_updates-v2.04
    11- reward_point_full_suite_1-13a

12-Simple SEO URL not yet worked
    I disabeld by doing this:
    http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...=86353&page=47
To disable ssu, it's a bit troublesome right now at this current version:

    13-Debug Error Logging Utility
    14- artists side box ok
    15- rss feed
    zj-silver wide/common/html_header.php
    16- super orders

    18- search_log_v200

    19- Admin Activity Report
    20- admin_users__restrict_product_categories_1-0-8 admin pofil
    21- orders_Exporter 1.0
    22- pdf catalogue maker
    23- xinha
24- edit cart doesnot work for music products

I'm another to suffer from the same problem. In my case I have 3 identical stores and 2 out of 3 work. Beyond Compare yields the following:
Binary Comparison of .....\store1> to .....\store2
    856 files in 46 folders

    840 files match exactly
    -----------------------

    9 files don't match
    -------------------
    admin\images\logo.gif
    admin\includes\easypopulate\easypopulate_config.php
    admin\includes\languages\english\email_extras.php
    admin\includes\languages\english\orders.php
    admin\includes\configure.php
    admin\includes\menu.css
    admin\includes\stylesheet.css
    admin\.htaccess
    admin\error_log

7 folders and files only on right
    ---------------------------------
    admin\images\graphs\banner_infobox-10.png
    admin\includes\boxes\extra_boxes\view_stuck_paypal_orders_customers_dhtml.php
    admin\includes\extra_configures\enable_error_logging.php
    admin\includes\extra_configures\pushorder.php
    admin\includes\extra_datafiles\view_stuck_paypal_orders.php
    admin\includes\languages\english\view_stuck_paypal_orders.php
    admin\view_stuck_paypal_orders.php
The store where the Admin Product Search functions correctly is the right-hand store.

In my case when searching I get no errors just no products found. A few search terms do yield results but they are incorrect. For example all my model numbers begin TCS Searching on TCS yields 2 results when it should list 174 products. Searching on the full model number of TCS0095 yields no results.

On the whole though most searches yield no results.

My stores are upgraded from 1.2.7. How? I uploaded a fresh install of 1.3.8a. I then did all my file modifications and template adjustments. Once happy I restored my 1.2.7 database and did a database only upgrade.

Hopefully the answer is out there somewhere.

For the benefit of anyone else in a similar situation I have found the solution in this thread.

I reset the Master Categories ID and my admin product search is functioning as normal.
