Define Pages Editor Now Not Giving Any Options

Hello,
I am using version 1.3.8a. I originally changed the text on the main page by goingt to admin/tools/define pages editor and selecting the correct page from the drop down. However, now when I go to the define pages editor page it doesn't give me any options on the drop down menu. It says "select a file to edit..." and nothing else. I search the FAQ's and did a search on the forum and couldn't find anything to help. I have gone to admin/config/define pages status and they all are set to link ON - Define text ON. I also read in the forum about changing the permissions in the includes/languages/english/html_includes to 777 and I did that but it didn't help. I do have a template installed but I changed the main text after the template was installed. I have no idea what happened or how to fix/trouble shoot. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have the overrides folder setup for html_includes for your new template??

Using FTP look in /includes/languages/english/html_includes/

and look for a folder named the same as your active template folder with your defines pages inside

yes, they are in there. I also found where I can edit the text through the code and the text I originally added is in there. I would prefer to do it through the editor in the Zen Cart admin because I don't know anything about code.

If this is not functioning in your admin I would suspect that you have one or more corrupt admin files and reloading the /admin folder might correct it but you need to determine if you have added any module that replaced a 'core' admin file as doing the reload will over write any that have changed....There are not overrides functionality in the admin yet
