Hey everyone!
I am trying to upgrade my database and just loaded a new version in a test folder on my server. However, after the license page, there is no upgrade button choice. I am upgrading from 1.3.6 to 1.3.8a. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Marci

If you only have an install button then you do not have a configure.php file to work from on your test directory ...
WARNING: be sure you are working with your TEST database with your TEST directory ...

I uploaded the entire 1.3.8a packet. Shouldn't there be a config file in it? At one point, I was able to upgrade my database, but while zc_install said that it was 1.3.8, once I went into the back end, nothing was there. Only a message that my DB needed to be upgraded from 1.3.7 to 1.3.8. Also, I had uploaded my template files into the proper folders, but I couldn't choose my template in the set template screen of the administrator area. The template didn't even show.
BTW, this is a copy of my current DB as I am testing to see if this upgrade will fix my current glitches in my shopping cart. :) I know, I am behind, but I am trying to do it now. I am doing this in a different directory with a test database.

A new install of all the files for Zen Cart does not contain the two configure.php ...
If you are creating a totally new install, rename the dist-configure.php files to configure.php ...
If you are upgrading a copy of a database, you need to have the two configure.php files setup already to use the copy of the database and then you will see the Upgrade button ....
NOTE: We do not recommend attempting to upgrade a live site with a live database until you have practiced this a few times to see what all changes you might need to get your site working with the new Upgrade ...
If I had a Live site in:
/catalog
I would make a working site with the new v1.3.8 code in:
/working
I would copy the 2 configure.php files from the Live site to:
/working/includes/configure.php
/working/admin/includes.php
then edit the new files to use the /working vs /catalog and the new database for my /working site and load a copy of my Live Database from /catalog to that and run the upgrade on:
/working/zc_install

Thank you, Linda. I really appreciate you responding so quickly.
I am definitely in a different directory testing this. I want to see how it works before I go live with it. Makes me a bit nervous, but I am moving forward. :)
