    if I turn redirect off, i get

    /tmp/gSGA2bFG.zip.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.

    Try again later, or contact the server administrator..

    ...from my browser.

    (and the download window pops up too, but with the error, will not allow a download...)

    here is the text from the root dir .htaccess

    # -FrontPage-

    IndexIgnore .htaccess */.??* *~ *# */HEADER* */README* */_vti*

    <Limit GET POST>
    order deny,allow
    deny from all
    allow from all
    </Limit>
    <Limit PUT DELETE>
    order deny,allow
    deny from all
    </Limit>
    AuthName www.mysitenamehere.com
    AuthUserFile /home/virtual/site218/fst/var/www/html/_vti_pvt/service.pwd
    AuthGroupFile /home/virtual/site218/fst/var/www/html/_vti_pvt/service.grp

    I'm thinking the server is not allowing ZC to get a handle on either the source file in download, or not allowing a proper link to be created in the random_tmp dir.

    just throwing darts...

    They replied with...

    We had adjusted the settings for your web server and you should be able to use the download function now.

    Try turning GZip compression off, with a value of 0. under Configuration --> enable GZip Configuration. I butted my head against this for hours, personally, and when I set this, the downloads all started working again. Argh. Either a really delicate setting or a bug.

    have this problem on firefox 3.0.6
    i have an adblocker(s)

    Adblock Filterset.G Updater 0.3.1.3
    AdblockPlus: Element Hiding Helper 1.0.5
    Ad blocker 0.6.2

    When I use Opera and can see the ads the page(s) are saved correctly.
    If I cannot see the ads the pages will not save correctly.

    The same problem(s) exist when using UBUNTU
    The problems DO NOT EXIST when using PUPPY LINUX , (FIRE HYDRANT)

    So I just uninstalled ALL OF THE ABOVE.
    I restarted firefox.
    Oddly , I still cannot see the ads, BUT THE PAGES SAVE FLAWLESSLY

    Try adding this to .htaccess in order to turn on gzip compression, without breaking things like .zip file downloads.

    php_flag zlib.output_compression On
    php_value zlib.output_compression_level -1

    For me it only works with GZip Compression = 0 (off). I use Windows IIS.
    But what does that mean for Zencart? GZIP ON is recommended settings for Zencart. Is there any other way to fix this and keep GZIP on as recommended?

    Thank you

    Br,
    Dali
