Are you installing Zencart locally, or on a hosted server?
I am running it on a hosted server
It appears that your server doesn't understand PHP.

Based on the features and software they promote, one would expect that their servers *should* support PHP.
But apparently, based on what's happening when *you* try to access *your* PHP pages via the browser, your server is *not* parsing the content as PHP. It's displaying the code literally, not executing it.
That basically means that the server is ignoring the fact that you're trying to run PHP script.
Only your hosting company can fix that.
