Unwanted white space under header image

I replaced the header background image. The new image was 99 px high rather than the default 110, so I edited in the stylesheet -

#logoWrapper {
width:780px;
height:99px;
background-image: url(../images/header_bg.gif);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
}

However, I have a white space under the header. It's about 10 px high, and then under that is the category row. See attached image.

Any clue on how to eliminate that white space?

Is it okay to complete remove logowrapper? I did it and it fixed the white space but i don't know if it okay.
