    Default Admin categories/products page: status enabled/disabled

    I have been searching for the answer to this question for some time and have had no luck. It seems like it should be self-evident but I cannot figure it out.

    In admin -> categories/products page, on the far right, just under "search" and above the categories/products listing I see a red "x" when I mouseover this red "x" it says "status - disabled". If I click on the "x" it changes to a green "checkmark" and mouseover says "status - enabled".

    I have NO idea what this is trying to tell me. Could someone tell me what I have enabled?

    Not sure what you clicked BUT on each category line if viewing categories or on each product line if viewing products there are boxes(colored) and green is enabled - one can see the product from the frontend - - or red is disabled so it is not displayed on the frontend

    I think I did a bad job trying to explain what I was referring to, so I've included images which identify the red "x" and green "check"

    The green check mark and red X are for turning ON and OFF the Categories dropdown ...

    Some sites are Categories heavy and need a way to turn that on and off to speed things up ...
