Default Paypal IPN & not registering orders in store on GoDaddy Hosting

    Hi all!

I am having an issue with orders placed using Paypal. I am using the Paypal IPN module and have configured it exactly like it says to in my admin, but when the customer checks out and goes to Paypal, the payment comes through but the order does not register in the admin, no order receipt is sent and the items never leave the customer's cart. I have uninstalled it, turned off everything in Paypal and then set it all back up again to no avail. It is driving me nuts! Help please!

Incidentally, I have subsequently gone in and enabled the logging/debugging feature in the Paypal module and have emails from that if those would help you help me.

Do you have the auto-return URL configured in your PayPal account settings?
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Ok, I have run through the checklist provided in the previous post, ran the 2 communication tools and still am having no luck. Both of the communication tools that I uploaded came back fine.

I do have the logs that I mentioned in a previous post but am not sure how to post them for someone to access without compromising any customer info (if there is any in there).

zip them into a single file, upload the zip to your server, and send me a PM with a link to where I can download the zip

    A couple things:
    a) These errors are all talking about a proxy server whose address is normally only used if one is hosted on GoDaddy hosting. Who's your hosting company? Why do you have the CURL Proxy enabled? If you're not on GoDaddy, turn it off.

    b) If your server cannot recognize "http" as a transport protocol, it's got some significant configuration problems, or else your hosting company has thrown a blanket over everything in a mad scramble to lock down the server in the name of "securing" it ... someething that normally only happens if they're running scared, rather than really knowing what they're doing.

You need to report the fsockopen error messages to your hosting company and have them resolve it.

I am having the same problem. I just got off the phone with Godaddy and they stated that it was a ZenCart problem. I have received a few error message emails if they will help. Here is what the message says:
IPN FATAL ERROR :: Could not establish fsockopen.
Host Details = http://proxy.shr.secureserver.net:3128 (-1221336092) Unable to find the socket transport "http" - did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP?

    http://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr
    Trying again without SSL ...

    And here is the other:

IPN FATAL ERROR :: Could not establish fsockopen.
Host Details = http://proxy.shr.secureserver.net:80 (-1221224144) Unable to find the socket transport "http" - did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP?

    http://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr
Trying again without specified protocol ...

Any and all help is greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    Bo

Ask GoDaddy how an error message coming back from *their* server can be a Zen Cart problem.
    Could not establish fsockopen.
Host Details = http://proxy.shr.secureserver.net:3128 (-1221336092) Unable to find the socket transport "http"
It's *their* server that's not allowing the PHP fsockopen() function to work because it's not configured to recognize "http" as a protocol to talk to external servers.
