help question Identify Product Type *after* product creation?

I know how to select product type during the creation of a new product.

What I don't seem to be able to find is... once I have numerous products defined, how do I know which type is each product?

I can tell which category it belongs to, but I can't find in the product page any hint to which type it is.

Any hint or tip would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks!

When editing, you will see it in the URL ...

There is not an actual display of Product Type on the Listing in the Admin but you could always add that to the display, if it helps ...

Where do you need to see this?

The fastest way is to look at that product in your store ... in v1.3.x you'll see that the main_page= value tells you the name of the product type.

As Ajeh said, you can also see it in the Admin URL when editing the product.

You could also look in the database ... in the products table is a field showing the product_type value, which corresponds to an entry in the product_types table.

Thank you very much, Ajeh and Dr. Byte - your answers have been most helpful.

I don't need to see this in a particular place, but for some problems that I had to troubleshoot/debug I needed to quickly find out the product type for the problematic products. Your tips were most helpful - I am all set now.

Now... a follow up question: Is it possible to change a product's type after it has been created?

    If so, how?

There is no interface provided for that due to the complexities of collecting type-specific data for one type vs the other.
