Show Specific Category on Index Listing or Add Entire Category to Featured Products.

Hi there,

My client wants to display a specific category of products on the index listing. Is there any way to do this?

Another solution would be being able to add an entire category of products to "featured products" list, and then having the index listing show only the featured products.

Both solutions would accomplish what we would like to get done. I couldn't believe that I didn't see any forum topic or module related to this task

No one has asked to do this before but, some day, it could be written to make something like this happen ...

NOTE: on the show a category on the main page, have you tried the settings in the Configuration ... Layout Settings ... for the built in feature to display a Category:

Main Page - Opens with Category
0= Top Level Categories
Or enter the Category ID#
Note: Sub Categories can also be used Example: 3_10

Categories - Always Show on Main Page
Always Show Categories on Main Page
0= off
1= on
Default category can be set to Top Level or a Specific Top Level
