    Default Cookie Settings...

    Hi All,

    I have two shops on the same domain. One for customers in the root, and a wholesale shop in the consultant directory for consultants. As you might imagine I am having difficulty with log-ins. If you log into the customer side it causes problems when attempting to log into the consultant side and vice versa. Is there any way for me to set the cookies to recognize them as two different sites?

    Thank you in advance for any help,
    Kelly

    Hi,

    I think what you will need to do is make the following changes on one of your shops (it shouldn't matter which)...
    1) copy includes/init_includes/init_sessions.php to the includes/init_includes/overrides directory.
    2) edit the includes/init_includes/overrides/init_sessions.php file and locate a line near the top that says...
    PHP Code:
    zen_session_name('zenid');
    3) change the name zenid to something else.. e.g...
    PHP Code:
    zen_session_name('sessid');
    4) save the file.

    You'll need to do this when there are no active users browsing your shop.

    Hope that helps.

    Regards,
    Christian.

    Additional..

    If you want to be logged into both shop admins at the same time you will also have to make a similar change to one of the admin files on the second store...
    1) copy admin/includes/init_includes/init_sessions.php to admin/includes/init_includes/overrides
    2) edit admin/includes/init_includes/overrides/init_sessions.php and find that line the says...
    PHP Code:
    zen_session_name('zenAdminID');
    3) change it to something like...
    PHP Code:
    zen_session_name('storeAdminID');
    4) save the file.

    Regards,
    Christian.

    That doesn't seem to be working.
    I even tried to change the original. But it still won't login on one after being on the other.

    Thanks,
    Kelly

    Does anyone have any other suggestions? I tried using the posted fix again and I even reversed which shop I used it on and still no luck. Once logged into one, even with a new browser window, you can't login to the other.
    If it was already posted and aswred elsewhere I apologize for asking again but I can't find it...

    Thanks,
    Kelly

    Hi Kelly,

    Sorry it's not working for you. It is very strange because I'm sure what I said above is the correct fix. Hopefully someone else will have some ideas.

    When you say that the you are unable to log in, what actually happens?

    Regards,
    Christian.

    Hi Christian,

    Thank you for replying again.
    What's happening is if I log on to site 1, in the root and I open a new tab in the same window for site 2, when I enter the login id and password and click on login it seems to just refresh the login page.
    I am not sure if maybe there isn't a problem with site 2 because when I do finally login it goes right to a page not found. I can eventually login after I close and reopen a new browser window multiple times. When I click on another page from the page not found it will stayed logged in.
    So... it appears as though I may have multiple issues.

    Thanks again,
    Kelly

    Hi Christian,

    It seems to wok if you open a new browser window now. That is fine. I will simply let the consultants know if they are going back and forth they will need to have two windows open.

    Thank you again for your help.

    Scratch that...no it's not working.

    Sorry to keep posting about this but it is causing problems. One thing I'm not sure I mentioned is that the one site in the root has Jrox installed. I don't know if this makes a difference or not.

    Thanks again,
    Kelly
