    Default How to add links and buttons to side boxes?

    My website is http://www.sarassoapsnsuch.com. On the right-hand side of the page (your right), there's a side box labeled "additional links." When I was setting up my site, a tech support guy actually did that for me, but wouldn't tell me how to do it (helpful, but not really). Now I want to be able to add links to that box, but don't know the path to take.

    Also, I want to add a button to that box that will link to another website. How do I do that?

    My computer savviness has its limits, so please keep instructions simple. :)

    TIA!

    Hi!

    First you must login to your admin area.
    Then go to "Tools" and select "EZ-Pages"
    There you can modify or add extra pages, link etc.

    In your case, create a new EZ-Page, enable sidebox (Select Yes) and enter a sorting number.
    Enter a page title (e.x. the site description) and enter the site's URL at the end of the page (External Link URL:).

    As always you'll find lots of info in the Tutorials/FAQ section..

    Good luck

    OK, I went through the FAQs on EZ Pages and I followed the above instructions. I uploaded the image (it was sent to me as a .gif file attached to an email) to Photobucket. Then, I copy/pasted the html line in Tools -> EZ Pages -> Great Links (the title I gave it). I've enabled "open new window" and "sidebox," and I gave it a ranking. The box itself isn't even showing up on my page.

    I tried keeping the html image link exactly like it came from Photobucket, and I changed it to link to the site I want the image to link to.

    So now what? I'm feeling like I should change the template some to create the new box, but I'm clueless on how to do that.

    Default Where can paragraph go for adding a side box?

    A friend of mine (I discovered last night) has her degree in computer programming and created this paragraph for me last night:

    <!--// bof: Whereami? //-->
    <div class="rightBoxContainer" id="linky" style="width: 150px">
    <h3 class="rightBoxHeading" id="whereamiHeading">Where am I?</h3>
    <div id="OOTBlink" class="sideBoxContent centeredContent"><a href="
    http://www.outoftheboxsampler.com"><img

    src="
    http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/k...utorbutton.gif
    "</a></div>
    </div>
    <!--// eof: Whereami? //-->

    I've seen the results of this, and it would add a side box on the right-hand side, bottom of my home page, with a button and a link, which is what I want and had posted about yesterday under the "General Questions" subforum. I've got what I need; I can open it in Notepad and copy/paste this into the correct place. Question is, where's the correct place? What's the path I need in my control panel/file manager? I poked around last night for nearly an hour with no luck.

    I was having sort of the same problem last night trying to add a logo in a sidebox so i found this solution from one of the post here. The easiest way to do this is go to the download section and get the editable sideboxes here is the link to it: http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...ort=20a&page=2

    You can install that and use the define page editor from your admin section to install the code you want in the side box. ANd since it is html code make sure that you click the source button on the editor and put the code you have. Also you can name the box whatever you like.

    Hope this helps!!!!

    That does help some. Thank you. Every little step closer to making this work for me the way I want it to is, well, a step closer.
