Free Gifts-Dangling Carrot support

hello,
i have a test site that i have installed your dangling carrot plugin in.
I followed the instructions and uploaded the files to their correct places.

From my Admin > Configuration > Tools i can see the FREE GIFTS.

I can click on that but i am unable to add any free gifts to the plugin.

in my catagories i have created a test product that is live and its also marked as free. But i am unable to attach that to my free gift etc.


i am using zencart = latest version.

I cannot see the 'this product is freebie' option when i add a new product in my freebie catagory.

This category you created for the freebie, which type is it? It should be Product General as this plugin only delivers modified core files for this product type. Please check this category by editing it. What do you see at the bottom at "Restrict to Product Type"?

I have been checking on the files that i have uploaded.

i have uploaded the required files and now i can create a catagory and then i can create a product where i get the option of this product being a freebie.

Previously, i did not have this option.

So, later on i will add free products to this catagory to see how it works with my site.

This is a nice module. Although the basic parts work, some of the other stuff needs updating, like category or products needed to qualify. Threshold seemed to work. I contacted the developer to see if he could update but not got back to me since last year. So not sure if anybody else can update, I think it might be incompatibility with the latest zencart.

I am not great at adding plugins to my site but I have done it before with success. This plugin I have a question on what to do with a particular folder.
There is a folder named "MANUAL" Do I use these files? If so, exactly where do I add them to my site folders.
As you all know there is more than one Images folder and also Includes folder. I am assuming the css folder is under the templates folder.
And how about the jscript folder?

Sorry if these are dumb questions but I am struggling with this plugin.

Does this module work with more recent versions of ZenCart (1.5.8 or later)? There hasn't been an update since 2019, and no posts since 2020. But it looks like it could work for our needs.
