Switching hosts, do I need to get a new SSL?

I am looking to switch from Opensource hosting to another host. The problem is I just paid for a new SSL with them and I don't want it to go to waste. Does anyone know if if they are transferable? Thanks in advance.

Yes, ssl is assigned to domain name, not host. Your new host will need to set up the ssl for you again tho.

you will either need to generate a new CSR at the new host and have the cert re issued on the new CSR
or make sure that you have the RSA Key and the CRT file

they are easy to move

IF your old host is running c-panel you should be able to pull the files from there
