can't intstall zen cart

I am setting up zen cart for my client on his web space.
His web address is www.*****.com.au
Now I am created directory “catalog” under public_html
And catalog directory contains all zen cart folders and files.

The instruction of zen cart says Starting the Installer for zen cart
In your browser, enter the URL to your new shop, and the Installer should automatically start
http://www.mydomain.com/catalog

so I typed address on browser http://www.*****.com.au/catalog/ which I have created under public_html.

However the address redirected to www.wix.com
I tried on firefox and IE8, but everytime goes to this www.wix.com
So I am unable to start installer.

note: www.*****.com.au is existing website and i am going to recreat website with zen cart.

why does it happen?

Is wix .com his host ?

Check the root folder of the site to see if there's an index.html file there. If so, remove or rename it.

it's not his host
he created website by wix.com web builder.
the website is currently running, so i can't delete the index,html.
i just want to stop redirecting.
how can I do?

Does he have an html website in the root? If so then there may be a .htaccess file in the root which is redirecting all enquiries to the root level folder.

Remove the redirect in that file.

i have progressed and subdomain is not redirecting anymore.
however, when following the instruction from zencart, "In your browser, enter the URL to your new shop, and the Installer should automatically start." but when i type http://subdomain.com.au/ it's taking me apache page. not installer starts.
what should I do?

Add to the last post, actually zen_cart is installed on subdpmain ( I used Fantastico from Cpanel)
Now I enter httP://subdomain.com.au in browser, I should see a list of filenames and directories and I will be presented with a "Welcome to Zen Cart™" page , explaining the features of Zen Cart™ accoding to Zen_cart instruction. but i get Apache page when i type in http://subdomain.com.au and http://subdomain.com.au/zen_admin, i get error 404 page not found.

i an not sure what I should do?

"404 page not found" means exactly what it says: the page isn't found.
ie: there's no file at the path you're telling it to look at.

Sounds like you're not putting the files into the correct folders.

i am no that stupid.
i know that.
there are files in the folder.
i want to know why it happens.
because my client hosting company can't fix it.
i can't do it as it's hidden hosting company have to make it working.
i am emailing back to them so many times now.
so if people can suggest me what is causing, i will suggest to hosting company.
