cant access admin through ipaddress/~login/admin

Im going to be re-building a site using zencart, but need the site to stay live with old design so there is no downtime.

I can see the basic zencart template after going through installation at ipaddress/~login/

However, when trying to access admin (ipaddress/~login/admin/)
I get a 404 page error and the address bar now shows:

"http://ipaddress/~login/admin/://ipaddress/~login/admin/login.php"

How can I work on site using ipaddress for testing?

I checked admin/configure.php and its showing ipaddress/~login/ as path.

You probably have a URL entered in the DIR_WS_ADMIN setting, instead of just the relative path to be appended to the URL ... which is typical when people try to manually edit the file instead of letting the installer build it.

Or maybe your apache is doing something funky.

Thanks for your reply. in my admin/includes/configure file, I have the following:

define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', 'ipaddress/~login/admin/');


my https has this:

define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://voyager.websitewelcome.com');

but its currently set to false.

Where should I look in apache? This is my second install of zen, both times were a breeze. ONly difference this second time is having to use the ipaddress instead of url. Any other ideas? Thanks

HTTP_SERVER and HTTPS_SERVER should be URLs, whether that's a domain name or an IP address.

DIR_WS_anything should be relative paths to that URL. It would be extremely unusual to ever see an IP address in a folder path. In the case of the admin, it would typically just be set to /admin/

If you look at examples of configure.php files from your working sites, you'll see the pattern there quite easily.
