Hello, I'm a not a complete newb to ZC, but a bit of a newb when it comes to taxes...!!
I frequently get asked if i can ship overseas.
My store is UK based, with a UK VAT number etc.
When i ship to UK customers, its easy, i charge VAT at 17.5%.
However, if i get a customer from France for example, or Germany, ie an EU state, then i have been told that i should not charge VAT to these customers, IF they can provide an EU VAT number.
Normally an EU VAT number would only be to people who have a company. So an individual in Frnace for example, ie a normal fella on the street, i should be putting on the 17.5% right? as he can't provide me with a valid French VAT number.
Is this right?
Any help would be appreciated... :-)
