Sale price only shown once in cart?

I sell items that I'm not allowed to advertise for below MAP (minimum advertised price). Most of my competitors have it so the sale price appears if the item is put in the cart. Is this possible with Zencart?

Anything is possible with Zen Cart ...

Add a new field to products table to mark these products ...

Add a test on the function that displays the price of products and if that product is marked, have it change what is sent back as the display price to something like:
Add to Cart to see price

Add to the Admin the new field so that you can add/edit the products that need this feature ...

What distinguishes these MAP Products from regular Products?

anything consistant or is it on a per product basis?

There's nothing that distinguishes them. It's usually the higher dollar items, so it would be per product.

Then you would need to add a new field to the products table such as:
products_map_hidden

and when set to 1, you can test for it in the function for displaying the prices and return the "add to cart for price" instead of the price ...

Then add on to the Admin for managing the field when you add/edit the products ...
