Is JavaScript Required?

A simple question, does Zen Cart require the end user to have JavaScript installed (or enabled)?

My guess is that JavaScript is required for some funcitonality (i.e. the country/state drop down on the create account page).

I presume the lack of JavaScript does not affect the user's ability to successfully checkout?

It should not affect their ability to checkout, the JS should degrade nicely.
