Default Currencies and sales report question

    Ok,

My question is, how do people manage sales report when they use 2 currencies.

Let say I permit to use CND and USD, how do you compile your sales report.

My questions comes from my reflection on my current shop situation.

Im in Canada and the only curreny on my site is in USD. I also use a sales report contrib. However, With the constant fluctuation of the canadian dollar, it is hard to keep up. One month currency equivalent is near par, while 2 months later it as lost 25 points.

I was thinking that for the new year, I could continue to sell in USD, but amounts in my admin area would be converted to CND, by using an automated currency updater. That way, I would always get a report in CND, this would be simplier for accountancy and income tax report and declaration since im a canadian resident.

Would that be possible, or how do you guys manage different currencies in different country ?.

I have my store's base currency set to CAD but I also offer pricing in USD. I use the GeoIP mod that uses a cron job to update my currency rates daily so that the exchange rate is always accurate. However, I do not rely on any of the reporting features in Zen-Cart. I use Quickbooks 2006 Pro which has multi-currency features. It was worth the cost because it makes accounting so much easier and my reporting is completely accurate. It also compiles my GST, PST, income tax, etc.

Right now I just enter it manually. It still saves me a ton of time in the end when I reconcile, do taxes, all that good stuff. I know it can be exported but I haven't played around with it yet.

I have seen a few plugins in the download area. I wonder if they work great.

While searching on google , I found this link:

    activostores.com/zen-cart-hosting-with-quickbooks-p-3.html

***$ a month for hosting, zencart and quickbooks all fully automated. Thats not what im willing to pay. But I like the features they expose. so it must be fully possible.

I've actually looked into something similar a few months ago, I didn't think of it until you mentioned that other one. This is the link:

    http://www.atandra.com/Prod_THub.htm

It sounds perfect and I like that it is not a hosted solution, you actually buy the licence so it is just a one-time fee. I have some more work to do on my website but once I am ready I am planning to download the trial and see how it works.

I have looked aat the link you provide and it says:

    T-HUB works with :
    QuickBooks US edition 2006/2007/200/2008/2009 [Pro/Premier/Enterprise]
    QuickBooks UK/CA edition 2008
For CA it seems that only version 2008 works. It is bad because I had found a cheap 2007 version with multi currencies locally.

You can purchase the multi currencies, that is based on 2007, directly from Intuit for a monthly subscription.

This one might be good also:

    http://www.webgility.com/ecommerce-c...patibility.php

    it says:

QuickBooks® Canada version 2005 and higher

    for compatibility.

    15 days trial available.

Just to add to the request, if it would support a the french version it would be best :)
