After SSL Install, Customers Can't Register or Login

After installing SSL certificate (which worked fine), customers can no longer register or log in. Trying to create a customer account just refreshes the page.
I uploaded the debug file and it does not seem to be creating any error log file in my cache directory.
Thi was NOT happening until i installed the SSL certificate - now i suddenly have this issue.
Please advise...?

running on apache server at dreamhost
SSL certificate recently installed
browser: firefox 3.0.4 / mac os 10.5.5

Did you alter both config files to reflect change of
upgrade to https/SSL cert?

yes, i altered the admin and shop versions of the file exactly as directed and they work fine. if you have line-by-line suggestions of another alteration to make regarding this specific issue, it would be welcome.

I have been looking on forum because I have the same problem you are telling. How did you resolve it?

Hope you could help me, the tread they refer to is not much of a help.
