Default How to change 2 column website into 3 column? - Acadame

I have been playing around with this template here on my PC server ichoze.net/Academe/ this isn't the link to my server, but a demo showing this template...

How can I make this a 3 column instead of 2? Not sure if its something hard to accomplish or if there is some file tweaking I need to do. Any and all help is appreciated and thanks for your time :)

it is designed only for 2 column .. they do say 3 column coming soon

seems daft template to me as they could have made it a 3 column and you then just disable the right column in admin >> configuration >> layout settings

then move all the right column block you want into theleft column

unless am missing the point of 2 column template ?

I wonder what would happen if you just went into admin and turned on the right column and moved some of the boxes into it?

In other words, what did they do (if anything) to restrict it to 2 columns?

everything is set up for 3 column website. Also, the boxes are enabled in the right column. Wonder what I can do to have them show up......

indeed it is, I think he did it by a page overide, not sure. I found the main thread http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=67793, it shows the fix on the first page, but a lot of tweaking has to be done, I am trying to see if the author has finished the 3 column website he has said was going to do

What an odd thing to do -- override the basic ZC utility to restrict it to 2 columns, when all you have to do is turn off one of the 3 in admin.

Not so very odd since turning it off in admin would require writing an sql statement to turn off this basic functionality.

For a basic template, it makes more sense to just enable the
    $flag_disable_right = true; in tpl_mainpage.php.
